I'm Scott.

I study user behavior to help companies build products that are centered on how people actually think and move through the world.

Based in Chicago. Available for hybrid, remote, and on-site roles.

My Approach to Work

Asking the right question is the work. The method is the fun.

The quality of the research question shapes the quality of everything that follows.

In well-defined spaces, that means making sure the right study gets designed before execution begins. In ambiguous spaces, the work starts earlier. Figuring out what questions to ask is often the most valuable contribution a researcher can make.

My job is to translate between those groups and keep user needs visible in conversations where they might otherwise get de-prioritized. That cross-functional work is where research creates the most durable impact.

About Me

Learning how different languages and cultures organize meaning shapes how I think about the people I research. Not everyone experiences a product the same way, and I find that endlessly interesting. Outside of research I build electronics, study languages, and spend time with my cats and family.
